This is a wonderful glider.
My father built this glider from the kit back in the 70's. It still flies with the original RC equipment and burgundy with cream Monokote covering; however, it has been upgraded with a brushless motor and lipo battery. On an 1800mah 3S lipo, it will climb at about 30 degrees. Power off and lined up for landing, it can be 10 feet AGL and 100 feet away and it will still fly past you. It is beautifully stable even with dihedral only, and in a thermal, it will circle within an 8 foot radius. Build it light, as my father did, and it is a floater with excellent penetration.
